Overview
Talelay ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app, this website, and related services. We do not sell your personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect limited information to provide and improve the service:
- Account identifiers and sign-in data, provided through Apple.
- Usage analytics to understand how the app is used and fix issues.
- Subscription and billing status, managed through our payment provider.
- Support messages you send us.
- Operational records such as AI usage counters, rate-limiting data, and account deletion logs, stored on our servers.
Your notes and story drafts are stored in your own iCloud account. We do not store that content on our servers.
AI Features
When you use an AI feature, the text you choose to submit is sent to Google for processing. Google does not use your prompts or outputs to train its models under their API terms, and we do not use your content to train our own models.
When a request cannot be completed (for example, for safety or policy reasons), we may log limited technical metadata — such as a stable account identifier, an approximate input size, and the category of block — for security and debugging purposes only.
If you believe your content was incorrectly blocked or removed by safety checks, contact us at support@talelay.app and we will review the case.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve Talelay.
- Manage your subscription and access to features.
- Respond to support requests.
- Prevent abuse and maintain the security of the service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
Third-Party Services
We work with the following third parties who process data on our behalf. Their privacy policies govern how they handle your data:
- Apple — sign-in, iCloud storage, and payment processing. See Apple Privacy.

- RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
We do not store or process your payment card details.
Your Content
Your notes and story drafts are stored in your own iCloud account. That content is not held on our servers. Apple's privacy and data processing terms apply to that data.
Operational data about your account — such as AI usage counters, subscription status, and support messages — is stored on our servers as described above.
Data Retention and Deletion
When you delete your account or request deletion, we remove your personal data. For security and legal compliance, we may retain some records for a limited period after deletion — for example, abuse-prevention logs, support correspondence, and pseudonymized compliance records. We keep this data only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and not for marketing.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable). If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies and Similar Technology
This website is primarily static. We do not run visitor analytics on the site. Your browser or hosting provider may store technical data needed to load pages. You can control cookies through your browser settings. If we add analytics or non-essential cookies later, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; receive a copy in a structured format; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where applicable; and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (for example, in the EU or UK). California residents may request a list of categories of personal information we have collected.

International Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries, for example by our third-party service providers. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Legal Basis
We process your data where necessary for the performance of our contract with you (providing the service), for our legitimate interests (such as analytics and abuse prevention), and, where applicable, with your consent.
Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure; we strive to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting an updated version here and updating the "Last updated" date. If required, we may provide additional notice in the app or website. If you do not agree with an update, you should stop using the service.
