Terms of Service

Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Talelay, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Talelay. If applicable law where you live requires a higher age to use this type of service or to consent to how we process personal data (for example, 16 in some regions), you must meet that age. By using Talelay, you represent that you satisfy these requirements and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

Use of the Service

You may use Talelay only in compliance with these terms and applicable laws. You are responsible for the content you create and for keeping your account secure. You may not misuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with other users.

Third-Party Services

Talelay relies on services provided by third parties, including Google (AI features and server infrastructure), Apple (sign-in, iCloud, and in-app purchase), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Your use of those features is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their services or policies.

How we collect and use data is described in our Privacy Policy.

AI Features

Talelay includes AI-powered features (such as draft formatting) that are processed by Google. Use of these features involves processing by Google under their applicable terms and policies. You can review Google's terms here: Google's Terms of Service.

AI features are subject to usage limits that vary by subscription plan. When your limit is reached, AI features will be unavailable until your usage resets the following month.

You may not use AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or that violates third-party rights; to attempt to circumvent safety filters or usage policies; or for any purpose that violates these terms or applicable law.

If an AI request is blocked, limited, or content is removed from an AI response due to safety or policy checks and you believe this happened in error, contact us at support@talelay.app and we will review it.

AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. You are responsible for reviewing and using any AI output. Do not rely on AI output as a substitute for professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).

Subscriptions and Billing

Talelay offers optional paid subscriptions managed through Apple's in-app purchase system. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Billing is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's App Store subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to premium features until then. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy; we do not process refunds directly.

Account Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in abuse or fraudulent activity, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will notify you before taking action. On termination, your access to the service ends; your notes and drafts stored in iCloud remain yours and are accessible through Apple's standard tools. Server-side data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You may delete your account at any time from within the app.

Intellectual Property

Talelay and its content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You retain full ownership of the content you create using the app. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to provide, maintain, and improve the service (for example, to route your text to an AI model when you invoke an AI feature). We do not use your content for marketing, model training, or any other purpose.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. In any case, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the service will not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or $10 USD if you have not made any payments.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated terms, update the "Last updated" date, and, where reasonably possible, provide advance notice. Changes required by law or for security reasons may take effect immediately.

If you do not agree to updated terms, you should stop using the service before the update takes effect.
